Relax in peace retreat

Further Information and FAQ's

What time does the retreat start?

You can arrive from 3pm to settle in and our first group gathering is at 5pm

I'm thinking of coming by myself is that OK?

Completely. Most people come by themselves and within the group we often have a couple of friends, siblings or mum and daughter too. It makes for a lovely balance.

How many people will be on the retreat?

Like most of my retreats, this will be a small group retreat, providing time to be in company but also take time just for you. From 6 - 10 people depending on whether people share rooms or opt to have their own.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely. You can choose to share as several rooms can be arranged as a twin, or you can have your own room for a bit more privacy and quiet time.

Do I need any yoga or meditation experience?

No experience is needed and this will be a beautifully inclusive retreat for all. Equally if you have a lot of experience you will find the retreat meets you deeply.

What does a typical day look like?

A typical day begins with peaceful guided meditation, followed by breakfast and then time to digest, maybe take a stroll. An extended morning practice around 11am leads us into lunch and then the afternoon is free for relaxation, swimming, exploring etc. Evening practice before dinner sets us up for a restful night's sleep and the day ends in good time to head quietly to bed. Wonderful extras on this retreat are the opening ceremony round the fire and the outdoor spa session on Saturday afternoon.

I have some dietary needs can you cater for me?

Yes. As long as you give details of what you need in plenty of time all diets can be catered for. Our food will be delicious freshly prepared whole foods, plenty of veg and plant based protein plus some dairy for those who want it.

I can feel anxious with a new group will you be doing anything to help settle us in?

I know just how this feels. I will be helping you to feel at ease right from the start and holding a soothing welcome circle that will calm your nerves and help you to relax and take up your place. Please know that nothing is required or expected of you during the retreat. You can be as quiet as you like and take time out for yourself whenever you want to.

What's the accommodation like?

This retreat has 3 wonderful shepherds huts each in their own space in the grounds and also the gorgeous old cottage where we can take communal meals and enjoy the lounge. The shepherds huts have their own shower room with toilet, plus kitchenette while in the cottage there is one ensuite and two lovely rooms that share a bathroom. There is a further bathroom and shower by the pool. Every room and hut is set up to the highest standard with comfortable bedding and towels.

What do I need to bring? What do you provide?

Details of everything you need to bring will be emailed to you at least 2 weeks before the retreat. In summary, just comfy clothes and preferred toiletries are all you need. All yoga equipment is provided, including blankets and bolsters. In your room you will have luxury bath towels, a swim towel and changing robe plus shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.

What time is check out on Sunday?

Check out is after lunch on Sunday around 2 - 2.30pm.
